Another good night, mostly PLO8 again with a bit of NLHE... I have some more pretty pictures of tonights more interesting hands....
The first one is a hand where I was really lucky... the same thing happened twice... I ended up with like the second nut low and thought I 'd be right and both times the other person in the pot had the nut low but I snuck in for the High with a single pair... I couldnt believe it... SO LUCKY.... could have been disaster... I guess I learnt something tonight cause I played a fair bit with only 1 or two other players, which I haven't really done much of in PLO8 especially at this level ($1/$2)... I also played on a $3/$6 table and I was pretty scared - there were two dudes sitting on the table and they both had over $1k at the table almost my whole role : )) didnt stop me sitting down with $240 and working up to $280 or so - I'd definitely give these guys credit for being better than your average player well better than pretty much any of the players I've played against... anyway that table broke after not too many hands, but I held my own and they put me to a lot of really really tough decisions...
The second picture hand is one where we got all in pretty early if it wasnt pre flop it was pretty clear we'd be all in on the flop and when our cards got turned over we had almost identical hands... luckily neither of us made lows with our A23 and my J paired up where as his 10 didnt
pretty cool!!

3. hit my perfect card on the river to win a good sized pot, it made my low and my oesd into a str8, though the other guys hand was a bit dubious from the start specially against my bet on the flop. This was prolly my biggest pot of the night at $400 and was courtesy of me making trip aces and him making trip 5s both with the pair in our hand so neither of us could make a FH without the board pairing which wouldn't hurt me anyway, and neither of us made a low

I know the pic with all the 6s doesnt really count as quads but its nice to have four between my hand and the board : )) and you know how I like quads so I couldnt resist putting this up ewven tho it shows how dumb I am cause I played this hand in the first place... tut tut
Here's a hand from holdem that went really well when my bigslick came up against Qs and I made two pair and the person called my river bet : ))
This was another big pot where I made the nut FH and the other person med the second nut FH and paid for it... : ))

So after all my sessions last night this is how I ended up:
NLHE table 1 (0.50/$1): -30
NLHE table 2 ($1/$2) : +50
PLO8 table 1 ($1/$2) : +120
PLO8 table 2 ($3/$6) : +40
that put me up just over $200 seeing as another $20 of my bonus got released... and so the bank roll grows... up $800 or there abouts for the week which isnt quite over yet which means I've taken my $500 buyin to $1300
regarding last nights tables at one stage I was +100 pn NLHE table2 and as much as +400 on PLO8 table1 but mostly I was around +300, so it was slightly dissappointing to end up that way... I had a really bas period where I was HU with some dude after I had just hit my peak and couldn't turn a trick and lost a lot... I could have won it back I'm pretty sure if I'd stayed but with work this morning I had to hit the sack... and I know I dont have to be too annoyed as I was still up $200 which is very nice - just that feeling of knowing it could have easily been +400/500 pretty easily (which would have given me the nice round $1500 bank roll) leaves you fealing slightly hollow even on an overall good session... anyways onwards and upwards hopefully... I'm going to try my hardest to get approval from missess EmBuScAdE to play in the Horse tourney on FT tomorrow which will be starting at 2pm in Aus which will be while we're cleaning the room we're moving into soon... so I'll need some luck to pull this one off!!

that's what it says in the song anyway - this post will be about a crazy crazy game of PLO8....
so I opended up FT wanting to play a little b4 bed a bit b4 10pm, I have a look at what's going in O8 and see 1 .05/.10 game and a $1/$2 game decide I'll have a go at 1/2 even though it really isnt in my roll's limits - I had just bought into FT the day b4 for $500 and was up to $580 after the first day... and I was determined when I loaded in not to play too high for my roll... so much for that... so I get on the table, buy-in for $100 (half the max), and I 'm playing pretty tight due to a pre-flop raise being $6 to call generally (3x BB) and a large part of my stack... after a little bit I got all-in (it was always going to be only a matter of time b4 it happened) of course I had the nut high Aces full of 10s which became on the river... you guessed it - dems quad As beetches picture is on the post also.... that put me up to $308 and prepared me for GamblinBabe - the likes of who I have never seen before and doubt I will ever see again....

GamblinBabe had plenty of money and was raising every pot continuously and hard! I was one recipient of these donations, though a lot of ppl were scared away, not sure what to do against these continual large raises... but I was patient and I waited I'll put the pictures for a number of hands up cause I won a $549 pot as well as a number of other remarkable pots and there is also a shot of the lobby that shos the average pot size being almost $200 pretty cool for a $1/$2 table where the max buy in is $200... it was higher at points but this is when I captured it... anyway GamblinBabe kept reloading and blew off about $1.2k... LaurynG bought in for $100 just before Gamblin babe left and was up to $1000 within 10 mins... that was insane... but I also made it to $1k but by the time I finished I ended up on $666.xx which was a bit unforuneate as I got quartrered and also lost one other big pot just b4 I left.... so anyway I was up $500 for the session which included my $65 loss on NLHE which puts my roll on almost $1100 which is not a bad effort in 2 days. : ))
WOW... so I'm a bit tired today, was hard to get out of bed - I stayed up till 1.30am cause I felt like I couldnt afford not to be playing that table both for the cash and the experience... though the lateness definitely contributed to me bleeding some of my winnings off at the end of the session... WOW I just cant believe it when I think about it... other comments from Gamblin babe were "I'm Bored" that was supposed to be a reason... and she said she'd had a good week... anyway.. who can really say... either way it was awesome!!! I think I'll be heading back to FT PLO8 not just cause of GamblinBabe - I've found it to be good profits othere than her... and speaking to waffles towards the end of my session... he said that FT are the worst players for PLO8 or the best depending on how you look at it ... and speaking of waffles I got onto the table he was playing on too and sucked out on him pretty bad - I wasnt really concentrating on that game properly due to the other one and the proportions of the cash on the table just seemed incomparrable... even I couldnt believe I won that hand.... I know deep down he loved it tho...

Well it's been quite a long time since I've posted!
I was away over the christmas/new years period till the 9th of Jan., it was a good break from work and I did some camping up the coast of NSW Australia between Byron Bay and Sydney stopping some really beautiful places including Iluka, Glenreigh, Nambucca Heads, Cassegrain Winery, Forster Tuncurry and The great lakes region near blueys beach (we didnt quite make it to seal rock as we had planned).
Anyway it was awesome and I may post some of the camping photos later... When I got back there has been much to do, between going back to work, restarting french lessons two nights a week, enrolling in classes for Uni, trying to work out classes for uni in France when i'm on exchange in the second half of this year and making sure that everything is in order with my school of engineering so I can graduate in march it's been a busy week back.
There has been some very happy news though, this weekend just gone by my Beautiful Sister got married to a really nice guy and the wedding went perfectly - it was really awesome and then the happy couple flew off to Japan for their honeymoon... ahhh so nice (may post one or two of these photos too - you may see me with my newly acquired beard, it came from the time camping).
Friday at work was cool some of the peeps at work have got into Texas Hold 'em and bought some chips (same as the ones I've got at home actually) so we had some poker and beers on friday arvo which was heaps of fun and apparently will be a regular event - few good hands especially the last one (had to leave to go out) where I played 5 3 spades against a raise (mostly cause I was leaving) and the flop came x 5 5 and then turn was a 5 so I had dem quads beetches and all the while the others are betting at me ... on the river I re raise all in and get a call from the chip leader and there is another player all in already... the all in player shows full house, chip leader shows a bigger full house and I show my 3 and say "I had nothing...... but four of a kind" as I turn over my 5 - and the laughter turned to surprise and then more laughter as I stand for a victory dance... I realised later this may not have been the best career move as the chip leader was my manager... but as a result of that evening I got invited by my boss to a poker night tomorrow night with him and some of the other managers (which is a bit scary - though I'm sure it will be fine) just have to make sure I dont try to play to pro and play for fun here I think... though this will involve a bit of money, not sure how much... lookin forward to that : )) specially seeing I've been thinking about trying to organise my own home game... even got a felt poker table top thingy for christmas : ))

So anyway my Return to online poker.... I got on for a bit of a session yesterday with my stars account struggling down around $100 I got into the O8 and played solidly till I raised with my AA24 1 suited A and someone re-raised all in (this was NL) for $20 (playing .10/.25 - my buyin of $15 was up to $30) and I decided I should call, I hit an A on the flop for trips and thought I was looking good, but got sucked out on at the river when the raiser who had KKxx hit some sort of str8, not too impressed, oh well... but mean while I had started another table of PL and also I had been convinced/ decided I wanted to ... buy into full tilt (I had been talking to Veneno) so I also started two table on FT and between these four tables I made $90 into about $220 playing various limits... I came back to the puter later and got back on FT and played a $5 SNG of NLHE and PLO8 as well as a cash game .50/$1 where I bought in for the max - $100 and was going alright but ended up busting it and I rebought for $100, I'd been a bit unlucky and had met two nice talkative guys who were pretty good players too and I was enjoying the game... so anyway I got back over $200 to make up for my buy-in even got to $237 at one stage but ended up pulling out even at $200... and I was about 7th in the O8 sng but won the NLHE tourney to be up a little for that session overall...
So at the end of the day my FT account was up $80 and my stars was up about $40 I think to a slightly healthier situation and at least heading in the right direction!!
so looking forward to the FT action to come and getting some bonus $ while doing it - gotta love the 100% bonus!! not sure how much I released with yesterdays sessions...

This is the limit challenge as it appeared on Jordan's blog... I quite liked the idea of the guidlines it sets out and I've had it in mind since I've started playing limit over the past month...

I might have cheated though cause I didnt't start at $25 bank roll and so I've been playing in higher limits...mostly $2/4 and $3/6 ( I did play a bit of $1/2 and $5/10 and even $10/20 twice, I know that was dumb)... but anyway lately, this last week gone by, I've been concentrating on the $3/6, I buy in for $300 and I've had 4 sessions this week, here's the run down....

I know my first move is taking $600 to put into stars to get their bonus going even if I don't work on it know... and that will still leave me with enough on UB to either continue with $3/6 very safely or even pusj on into $4/8... any thoughts I'm not sure what I should do... I think it would be sensible to stay at $3/6 and make sure I can keep doing this for a while... consistency has to be my focus I think and I definitely am not under any misconceptions that 1 week is enough to judge my level on.... and I been here b4 and stuffed it up... so I will be proceeding with caution!!

Played a 10 person SNG for $10 on party with GCox and Veneno and if you have a look at the pic you can see we were the top 3 and so we all made the money... it was fun... especially stealing veneno's blinds so many times!! lol just kidding... every time I raised on the button I had a hand... well except maybe that 1 time.... anyway I was chip leader (as you can see in the pic) going into the final 3 but I started playing a bit loose and veneno punished me, then I got all in against G with K10 v K7 but G got me with his 7 and that was that, G ended up sucking out on V to win the thing for a cool $50 ... It was a very enjoyable experience and I did some hammering for the beneift of ven and G, for some kicks... worked out well... so anyway doubled up my buy in and had a great time thanks to Ven and G

I had my last exam for engineering, so it's all over now!! and Props to the Soceroos (The Aussie Football Team) who qualified for the world cup in Germany 2006!! I was in the stadium with 85,000 other crazy Aussies!!! the tension the drama the atmosphere it was the most amazing sporting event I think I've ever seen!! There was so much love in that stadium and elation and relief (it's been 34 years since we last qualified.... anyways... time to catch up on some poker related stuff...

It's been a while

the winning hand against TripJax.... my other story from this tourney: for me in Aus the tourney was starting at 8am and so I was running a minute or two late, so I log in to stars and the tourney table window pops up and I see AA and I think wow someone just won with or showed their aces... on second inspection I realised it was my hand and the action was almost on me... anyway I ended up all in and knocking the other dude out on my first hand sitting in... its been over a week now so I'm a bit hazy on the details and names... anyway this hand set me up as a reasonable chip leader for most of the rest of the tourney, ppl kept calling me a bully but I couldn't help it when everytime I looked down, I'm on the button, and I see Aces... what's a guy to do?? lol : )) Thanks to Acorn and everyone else for the fun it was great fun!! hope to see even more peeps there next time!! As veneno suggested the 4player HU matches on stars seem pretty good and I won one and had an interesting match in another one, I had made it through the first round after many many hands, a gruelling HU grind, and I get my first hand in the second round (we're both sitting with our $3k chips) and I wake up with AK hearts in my pocket... I raise to $120 (blinds at 30/60) my opponent re-raises to about $400 or so I re-re-raise to $1500 I'm thinking this is good... he goes all-in I'm committed now pretty much so I call... and he flips up QJspades and I'm thinking great, could have been a lot worse and could have only been a bit better like if they had and A or K... so anyway the flop comes K x x ... sweet ... turn A.... wow .... 10 ... $#%##$@!@#! straight for them versus my top two pair.... I guess that's poker but it hurt a bit... and with my Stars account really crippled this was ouchy... now I'm down to $2.06 on stars... not sure if I'm gonna be able to build that back up.... meanwhile on UB I was on about $400 and I decided to play some $20 and $30 HU matches and won about 4-6 of these in a row and it boosted my bankroll up to $512, that was yesterday and today I decided to get back to prolly my fave game in recent past the $3/6 limit 6handed... sat down with $300 (obviously this is not appropriate considering my bankroll, but it's what I like to play and I know I can play at this level... anyway... ), on one table of about 5 ppl and lost a big pot first up when flop came AKA and I had the K , turns out the other guy really did have the A, and another pot got me down near $200, I'm thinking, ahhh not good... I'm thinking i'm playing pretty well a bit unlucky and a bit too loose, so I decide to tighten a bit till I get a better feel... then I slowly make my way back up to $250 and then it all came together and I made it to $330 and we had some player turnover... next I got up to about $400 and then it went down to 3 handed and I broke the table, mostly by having a feel for the two other guys I knew when to bet and when to leave it alone. so I ended up with $496 when the table broke $200 up and my roll up to $700 which is a much nicer and more comfortable level to be at...

that's all for me for the moment!!
I won my first Rio but I havent had too much success with them other than this one I think one other 3rd which breaks me even... so I might leave these alone...

Dem's quads Beeetch's, this was a crowning achievement getting all in with quad jax against TripJax to get me back into it in LittleAcorn's blogger tourney - US vs UK part2 and I ended up winning which put the UK up to 2-0 (I snuck onto the UK side by being an Aussie [british colony - lol] and having irish citizenship)

this evening I played on UB trying to clear my bonus.... seems to take forever...
and I'm not sure I like this pay as you go bonus scheme... I think I prefere the lump sum payment when you accumulate the points, an extra dollar or so her and there seem to dissappear, doesn't even feel like I'm geting it...

anyway played $1/2 limt and $2/4 limit and I was up and down ... could have pulled out $50 up but ended up pulling it at about $90 down... Just before I pulled out I decided I wanted to have a quick go at no limit... so any way 2 and a half hrs later, a couple of interesting hands and a doubled bank roll I eventually closed down UB its almost 2am here in Sydney... and I gotta get up at 5.15am, what am I doing??

anyway more about those interesting hands, firstly this was one of the hands that proppelled me on my way to doubling up (my bankroll on ub)...

and to having the spare chips/inclination to do things like the next hand...
when you raise with the hammer and get two callers, there's not much more you could ask for than this (picture below and hand link as well)

my next and last one that I'm posting about is an open question, I'd really like to know how you think I shold have played this (mostly on the river but the whole hand too)... afterwards other guy says big lay down, so I asked if it was the right lay down, he says if you couldn't beat A high, so I don't really believe him, but part of me wants to think I was right about thinking I had the best hand... and then he follows up with i had the Aclubs which would have given him the nut flush draw on the flop but could he really have gone through all those bets with A high?? I dunno, anywayhe says she says... what do you think?

So Much For My Poker Ban...

So my thesis is due in under 4 days now.... sooo excited...

Yeah my poker ban didn't last very long... but at least the ban ended in style, or so the story goes...

about 10pm I started a $5+0.25 9 person Pstars SNG and signed up for a $20+2 Ultimate Bet $1800 guaranteed 6 handed tounrey that started about an hour later... at the time there was 2 ppl signed up and I thought this will be gold $1800 guaranteed and only a handful of contestants... anyway by the time it started it had just surpassed the $1800 prize money mark with about 93 entrants...

So the SNG was going well but I was a bit active and lost some chips.... but then I'd grab a good pot to get me a bit above the starting 1500 chips... and later on there was a long long period where myself and the player to my left were the two short stacks and we both held on and ended up HU for the money. And in the end my chip lead coming into HU helped me to prevail... I actually played it well I think... my HU game could be ready for the HUC3... speaking of which there have been rumours flying around from everywhere regarding this event... and possibly prematurely considering HUC2 is still only in round 2... I hear the Comiss is working on creating the biggest HUC yet... anyway we'll have to keep our ears to the virtual ground for that one... there have also been rumours circulating about a Comish MTT... you may or may not have heard it here first : ))

anyways back to the story... so as it was getting towards HU the UB tourney was just starting

I won the SNG and recovered from losing chips in the tourney...
ohhh I just lost the story I wrote an I can't really be bothered to do it again.... I won the SNG and recovered from losing chips in the tourney...but I made the final table as chip leader with about 40k, busted a few ppl and ended up with 80k to 35 and 40k with 3 ppl left and shoulda closed out and played it a bit tighter... but it was after 2am here and I was tired and thinknig about my thesis... anyway we swapped chip leader a number of times and I even got up to 104k at one stage but busted out in third , which is good but dissappointing considering the circumstances... I should have easily got second and another $100... however, my $300 cash is my biggest in a tourney ever and I was really pleased with how my game has changed since coming 103/1500 or so in the blogger tourney on PStars... seeing ppl use their stacks to take down pots in the right situation... so important... loved the 6 handed format... kept you in the action all the time and if you were on a table with 3 or 4 big stacks that was your whole table... it's tuff but good too....

I think it's renewed my faith in MTT, now I can see that I can actually place high through a fiewld larger than a 45 person SNG

When Friday rolled around, John showed up at Bill's house at 2 p.m. sharp and after paying Sue the agreed sum of $500 they went to the bedroom and closed their transaction, as agreed. John quickly dressed and left. As usual, Bill came home from work at 6 p.m. and upon entering the house, asked his wife abruptly. "Did John come by the house this afternoon?" With a lump in her throat Sue answered "Why yes, he did stop by for a few minutes this afternoon." Her heart nearly skipped a beat when her husband curtly asked, "And did he give you $500?" In terror she assumed that somehow he had found out and after mustering her best poker face, replied, "Well, yes, in fact he did give me $500". Bill, with a satisfied look on his face, surprised his wife by saying, "Good, I was hoping he did. John came by the office this morning and borrowed $500 from me. He promised me he'd stop by our house this afternoon on his way home and pay me back." Now THAT, is a poker player!

Here are two screen shots... I was playing two SNGs one 45 person on PStars and one 10 person on UB... the pic's happened at the same time on the respective tables, I got so excited playing my Aces I let the time run out on my Jacks... : )) so dumb.... anyway I cashed in both... 2nd in the UB and 5th in the PStars so that was a pretty return to SNGs for me... shold have done better in the PStars but got a bit excited on the final table with all-ins... At one stage in the UB it was going really slow... I started both tables at the same time and Pstars was down to like 23/45 and UB still had 6/10 ppl left... anyway so at this stage I went all-in on UB about 8 hands in a row and wo them all either from folds or showdowns... I was gettin some real good cards and I basically got it down to heads up, I knocked out 3 ppl then and then another right after... then we had a long HU battle an epic even... and eventually he got me trapped when I made two pair on the river but he'd made his str8 on the turn... so I pushed and that was that... the only other game of heads up I've played that went for more hands was my 2nd HUC2 round1 match which went for 116 hands I think it was... it was a topsy turvey affair and I made many a comeback and even went ahead a few times but I couldnt seem to take it all the way... and High Plains Drifter got me in the end... congrats to him, he played a great game... good luck in the next round against The Sir. and also to all the other competitors... but my pick for the win has got to be The Poison... be afraid be very afraid... also thanks to YoYo for the great railing/suport... so o appreciated!!! Anyway I think the moral of this story is I need to work on my HU skills... hopefully by making it to HU in SNGs... and I think along the same lines as Jordan I'm keen to start playing some more MTTs after I hand in my thesis in 6 days

one last thing... this is from the HUC2 aganist Statham aka High Plains Drifter... a bit of a turning point in the game that got me back into in when I was crying for mercy as Statham pushed me over the virtual rail... anyways Poison has the Hand History I'm pretty sure but I think it was something like Statham calling me down with 9-2 off when I had a full house I think... may have to amend that but something like that.... this is the beginning of endless mocking!!

it was fun and I bubbled a bit, 103rd, they started giving out tshirts and hatas at 100... bummer... at least I went out fighting with my pocket jacks... no matter after I came 2nd in a SNG on UB that I played with Poison and Jordan (who were also on the sidelines towards the end of my time in the tourney - thanks for the support). That was fun too.... love jordan's banter!!

So meanwhile I took some screen shots from the tourney this morning (morning - Aussie time) . This was trip As good times!!

I've been haveing a topsy turvey time of it on the limit cash game tables, after I deposited at Stars. I was doing well playing solid... went down a bit ... earnt my bonus and was about where I started... anyway to cut a long story short, I decided to play $10/20 just to give it a go... I may have been a bit tilty cause it's definitely above my bank roll. The situation was I had played 4 $3/6 tables and lost my buy in on 2 and the other two I was up and dwon on but prolly abit higher than where I started... and i wanted to play a $5/10 which I've done b4 and am comfortable at even though it's prolly just a step above where I'm at at the moment, but they were all full or empty, so I decided I'd have a go at $10/20... and for a while sitting around my buy-in then a little up... So anyway I got up to 3 times my buyin with some big hands... shoulda quit... my money on that table was 3 times the rest of my bankroll, anyway kept going... and twice in two orbits twice I got pocket 10s and flopped a set and twice i got beaten on the river... and I wasn't slow playing... actually I might see if I can get the hand histories up...

anyways after that it was pretty much all down hill.... I suppose this is where I say... "TILT!!" ...and I ended up losing every thing no that table... so I ended up with my bank roll crippled to say the least when it could have been prospering.....

So yesterday with my bankroll really to small to go back to my, now, usual $3/6 I hit up the $2/4 on two tables and smoked it... I turned my $40 buy in on each table into $145 and $205 => 270 profit on 80 buck and less than 2hrs... that's the way it should always be : )
but there was plenty of fishing going on... maybe it'd be more profitable to play the $2/4 regularly even if i have the $3/6 bankroll?? or maybe I should just get back on the $10/20 and remember to pull out before i lose everything... nah... I think it can wait for my bankroll to catch up!!!

anyway back to the thesis!! 8 days till freedom!!

Limit vs NL
At first I was introduced by my mate colin to NLHE and I didnt even know there was a difference or even that such a game existed (Limit). Even when I did discover and found out the difference, the idea didn't really impress me and Colin thought it was too boring which probably influenced my opinion also. But since I rebought into Pokerstars again, (I had deleted al poker software from my computer for thesis reasons), about a week ago, mostly due to offer of a bonus (25%) and I know it's not the best bonus available but like I've mentioned PStars is my fave... yeah so since then I've been playing almost exclusively Limit Hold Em(LHE) and It's definitley grown on me... it may even be firmly attached, I'm not exactly sure why but you can definitely potentially make enough money in a session and it definately stops me from losing a hard earned session's worth of $$ in one all-in although it doesn't stop me from losing all the money I sat down with, just means it can't be in one hand which is good! and there still seems to be enough big hands to push you up when you're doing well...

So Limit has become my game of choice for the moment!!

heya,

in the name of the HUC2 I will be signing up to UB, and I guess while I'm at it I may as well sign up for PSO and maybe get some free stuff out of it. I'll prolly get the amazon voucher and purchase some poker books, not sure what the best is, suggestions welcomed, but I'm quite taken by Super System II, partly cause of SS I's rep and also cause Monsieur Negreanu is definitely up there as one of my fave poker pro's... I guess this is partly coming from the first episode of WPT I ever watched, all of a couple of months ago, well maybe it's close to 5/6 months now (yep that's how long I've been playing poker. The guy I have to blame/thank for getting me into poker and providing me with said episode of WPT is a uni buddy of mine who's been playing for a while now and is a fair bit up I'd say, and he plans to take a year off after graduating this year to travel the world playing poker and see if he can't just make a go of it - so over engineering. Anyways I digress, yeah I think it's season 3 episode 3 and it's a huge final table... Daniel Negreanu, Josh Arieh, Phil Ivey, Siricuse Chris, David Williams and some (amateur) engineer dude (which gives me hope : )). anyways it's awesome prolly still my fave episode. Other fave pro's include Gus Hansen, Jennifer Harman, Phil Gordon seems like a nice guy after listening to his WSOP 2005 podcast, David Williams and I'm sure there are others that I'm forgeting. hmm I should have a new paragraph here somewhere....

So my questions are:
1. What are good poker books?
2. What do people recommend for free gift from PSO?
3. Is the Frequent Flopper Program worthwhile?
4. What's your faveepisode from WPT or otherwise?
5. and Do I really have time to be doing this? ie, not writing my thesis? Well I know the answer to that one!

Also on a completely diff. note, I'd just like to proudly announce that I have never played poker live in a casino and I've only ever played two home games for money, which was awesome fun... I'm really keen to hit up a casino and try it out for the experience, I'm sure I have many tells and will make a fool of myself making an incorrect bet amount or string bet... I've been looking forward to playing live Cas. poker for a while now, in Australia I know of two Casino's with poker, Star City in Sydney which only recently introduced poker tables and Crown in Melbourne which is the home of poker in Aus. I suppose, they host the Australian Championships, in fact I was down ther a month or so ago and it happened to be the same weekend my friend Colin was going down to play in largish tourney I think it was a 500'ish buy in NLHE tourney, I was really keen to play on one of the regular tables I was gonna play $1/$2 NLHE which I'd played online a bit but I never made it to the top of the list. So anyway the plan is to go to Star City (Sydney which is where I live) very soon after thesis is over which now is about 12 days time. Shit that's scary...

#1 and a Win

here it comes... my first official post as a poker blogger...

#1 is also the name of my original blog Blog #1, which is also where you'll find my rego code for the PokerStars Blogger Tourney which is pretty exciting.

I decided to make the move to a seperate poker blog, prolly inspired by reading a number of other poker blogs today, procrastinating while I should have been working on my thesis that's due in just under two weeks (scary). Included in those inspirational blogs are:
High On Poker and
Poison Poker
I'm keen to play in the HUC2 which is being organised by who I've seen referred to as "the comissioner" from High On Poker.

I'm also happy to report that writing this first post I have just come of a good session on pokerstars, which I'd have to say is my fave poker site... possibly cause it's my first but I'm not sure if that's all it is, I think poison was saying the same on her site re: party poker. Anyways session ended with me up $137 and up on two tables and down on another.

anyways on that happy note I'm going to end post #1 it's bed time, gotta get back to the thesis tomoz....
